The Market is Open

Anyone else feeling like a gloomy Gus? Where is the sun? Please let it come back to us soon it is effecting everyone’s mood in my family. I am ready for Spring and sunshine and warm weather. Bring it on Mother Nature!
I will be at a Sustainable Agriculture Conference this week, but the fantastic Carolyn will be running the market this week for me on Thursday.
Have a great week everyone,
Angela

The Market is Open

Sorry that I am a little late getting the market open this week. Holiday’s always throw me off. Ray is home and we are working hard to get Miss Hannah out the door and back to college this morning. These are sweet moments really, that I am allowed to have because I am not crazy busy with the farm at the moment. I will start seeding this week for our Spring crops, and I am still finalizing our plans for the year, but mostly just enjoying the down time before things get wild and crazy busy here on the farm.
See you on Thursday,
Angela

Happy New Year!
Life just keeps trucking along around our farm. Things are getting done and I am finishing up my planning for the coming year. My anticipation for Spring is at an all time peak. I am ready to seed and get the tunnels and fields full of veggies.
This year- like no other before it- will be full for the Magney Farm. I have hired a full time helper for the farm, as my kiddos are going off and starting college and careers this year. I doubt I will be an empty nester, but it will be harder to get projects done on the farm without their help. We are again expanding the farm to produce more and varied veggies, and hope to put in more fruit options in the near future. Ray will be retiring from the military in October and I look forward to him being available more on the farm.
With all of these changes, comes sadness (as the kids are moving on) and great joy with new friendships, and the plans for our future right here in Princeton.
See you all on Thursday,
Angela

The Market is Open

This is the last week of the Market of the year. If you need to order for the following weeks, please do so by Wednesday. We will open up on January 9th again. This two week break allows me to close down all the market activities, get all filing done, and get ready to file taxes for the market.
As this year draws to a close, I want to say a big Thank You to our customers, who support our farmers week in week out. Our farmers get 90% of everything they sell, and by having a market manager, who helps the customers, they are able to get back to their farms and get to producing more awesome veggies, meats, baked goods and etc… for you.
Your support keeps these small farms going year round. The only market that does this in our area. I thank you, and your farmers thank you for the support.
I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you on Thursday,
Angela

As the season starts to draw to a close- I am looking for your input. How can we make Princeton Farm Fresh better? What do you want to see your farmers grow next year? Where do we need to improve? I know there is always room for improvement. We have a great core group of customers who support our farmers here on Princeton Farm Fresh. We want to know what you think.
I am going to get Miss Hannah on Thursday morning but will be doing my best to get back for the market in the evening. If I don’t make it- Jonah will be running the market.
See you on Thursday,
Angela

The weather is changing! I don’t know that I am ready for Winter, but I have enjoyed the longer Fall weather. We will be having another 3 weeks of the market before the end of the year. I like to leave a full week at the end of the year so all of the checks can clear and I can get ready to do our major accounting for the year. So the last day for the market will be DECEMBER 22nd.
See you on Thursday,
Angela

The Market is Open

Sorry about the late opening. I am living the life of a rural farmer. We currently have a livestock guardian dog missing and we have been searching all morning for that dog. I feel like a horrible farmer when our dogs go missing. I suspect that something got too close to our sheep last night and our dog went to chase them off. So if you see a big white fluffy dog near Princeton or Eddyville, please give me a call and we will come and get him.
I have one more conference for the year with the Ky State Farm Bureau that I will be attending this week. Jonah will be in charge again on Thursday,
Angela

The Market is Open

Thanksgiving week runs a bit at Princeton Farm Fresh. This year we will be opening the market today and closing tomorrow evening at 5pm. Market will be held Wednesday from 4-6pm at Tractor Supply. This is also where you will pick up your FRESH turkey from Idle Hour Farms. Once you put down your deposit you will pick up your turkey from Ross and pay the remainder of what is due to him. We had his turkey last year, and it was so delicious. I encourage you to try one this year. Keep in mind, because they are heritage turkey’s they are smaller, so if you are feeding a crowd, get two.
See you on WEDNESDAY,
Angela

Sorry that I am late today- I got to picking and forgot time.
I will not be at the farmers market this week, but Jonah will be taking over. Ray and I will be at a Small Farms Conference this week. Hence, why I am trying to get everything picked now.
Jonah will see everyone on Thursday,
Angela

I am off this morning to be a Mom- helping Jonah get all his ducks in a row so that he can get into Murray State next fall. It is amazing to me as the seasons change, so does the seasons of my life. Next year will be the first year that I will have all of the kiddos (young adults) out of the house. Crazy to think how fast this season of my life has come. It feels like a fast season that I am not quite comfortable with yet. It feels like how I think of Winter coming…. I know it is coming, but I am just not quite ready for it. What one last thing can I plant in their minds to improve their quality of life, what one more thing can I do to improve their self esteem before the world gets a hold of them and changes them making them grown.
See you on Thursday,
Angela
