Fresh Whole Turkeys. We have pasture raised, free range Heritage Breed Turkeys. Heritage Breeds were served on American tables from Colonial times to the early 1950’s. Heritage turkeys retain the historical characteristics of wild turkeys with the ability to breed naturally, fly, and graze pastures. We raise our turkeys from eggs our breeding flock lay. Most of our turkeys diet is from our USDA Certified Organic pastures. What little grain feed we use is sourced locally, non-GMO, fresh ground, and non-medicated. Our turkeys receive dawn to dusk exposure to sunshine, fresh air, a natural diet, and exercise. Raising our turkeys in this manner closely matches the natural behavior, diet, and life style of Wild Turkeys. The result is a turkey with genuine real turkey flavor, taste, and juiciness. None of are turkeys are treated with or exposed to any chemicals including antibiotics, hormone growth promotants, insecticides, herbicides or medicines.
The house we live in and the barns and buildings we use in our operation; were built during the prosperity of the 1920’s and are on the Kentucky Register of Historical Properties as representative of farmsteads of that period. We take great pride in the restoration, preservation, and utilization of these buildings in our farm operations today.
Our birds can be ordered any time. We have fresh (never frozen)turkeys available from the third week of November thru December 24th and frozen year around. We recommend you order early as we have sold out every year previously. Our birds are processed, weighted and vacuum packaged locally under USDA inspection. The price is $4.95/lb. Weights range from 8lbs. to 14lbs.
